EMPOWERING VULNERABLE ADOLESCENT GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN.

At Umunthu Plus, we're committed to creating opportunities for vulnerable adolescent girls and young women through our 'Skills For Her' program.

This initiative aims to equip these young individuals with essential vocational skills, business management expertise, and entrepreneurship mentorships.

Our mission is to empower them, protect them from early and forced marriages, and break the cycle of violence that often results from their vulnerability.

Skills Development for a Brighter Future

In many communities, adolescent girls and young women face unique challenges that put them at risk. Early and forced marriages, along with violence, are significant threats to their well-being. The 'Skills For Her' program seeks to address these issues by providing a comprehensive solution.

Vocational Skills Training: Unlocking Potential
Through our program, vulnerable girls and young women are enrolled in vocational skills training courses. They receive training in a variety of valuable skills, including but not limited to:

  • Sewing and tailoring
  • Embroidery and Craftwork
  • Catering and Culinary Arts
  • Beauty and Hairdressing
  • Agriculture and Agribusiness

These skills are carefully selected to align with market demands and individual interests, ensuring that participants gain the expertise needed to create a sustainable future for themselves.

Building Resilience Through Entrepreneurship

In addition to vocational skills training, our participants benefit from business management and entrepreneurship mentorships. These sessions are designed to enhance their knowledge in managing businesses effectively, making informed financial decisions, and navigating the complexities of the marketplace.
